Step Two: Create all Web Pages Needed for the Web Site

I use the latest version of Macromedia's Dreamweaver, one of the industry's standard web design softare.

This section involves all of the basic aspects of web design, including using tables, layers and cascading style sheets to organize the look and feel of the site. I also create or add graphics to help with visual appeal, as well as spell checking, adding basic metatags and more. I design all web sites with search engine optimization in mind, so when I go through and optimize an already built web page, it's already close to being done. Here's the ste-by-step process I follow:

  1. Web Design
    1. Create the Web pages
    2. Add / create text as needed to create pages that make sense to a visitor
    3. For Ecommerce Sites:
      1. Create and configure the shopping cart
      1. Add the categories and products
      2. Create related static web pages for each category and sometimes even individual products
      3. Test the shopping cart for accuracy
    1. Name each graphic and web page correctly so it can be identified easily
    2. Add or create more graphics so the page makes sense
    3. Create internal links to other pages as I create each page
    4. Create the basic site metatags: page title, description of page, keywords.
    5. Read all of the text, find more keywords and spell check.
    6. Preview finished page in Internet Explorer, Netscape and Firefox.
