Ron Brewer Photography Wedding and Portraits Blog - this is an addition to the main flash gallery web site of Ron Brewer Photography.

The blog is based on WordPress software, a free online blogging software that's easily installed in any web server. The software is template based, and we found a unique look and feel that complements her main web site.

The background is fixed while the template moves, creating a really unique effect for the look and feel as you scroll down the page.

The Desert Business Association - this is the Gay Chamber of Commerce for the Coachella Valley. This web site uses a content management system that focuses on memberships, from a company called Memberize.

The web site comes with a backend where members can be imported in and then all updates to the members' information including billing can be handled online.

The design of this site is template based. The backend does let you do modifications, so it was possible to make the look and feel more appealing visually. I added a slideshow to give the front page a bit of movement.

The web site also features an event calendar, photo galleries of past events and a variety of other features.

Applied Happiness is a content management web site using Joomla, a free open source content management program. This web site has a great visual appeal and the look and feel is controlled by a template that is customized to the clients specifications.  The web site has a great image based menu and a flash intro of a brain with positive and negative words.

The web site features a blog for the client to write and readers to subscribe and comment, an events calendar that uses Google Calendar that she can easily update, and an Amazon Bookstore. The site will eventually have a paid membership feature and an online store that sells various products and services.

Mary Anne, the site owner, is an expert on finding happiness and is currently working on her first book, Applied Happiness.

Dan Cox for Public Relations is a blog style web site with a simple homepage that leads to the blog where all of the content is.

I installed Wordpress, a popular free blogging software, applied and customized a template to his specifications, and taught him how to use the administrative backend, all by phone!

Dan specializes in public relations for the restaurant industry and has offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Dan chose a fun, interesting and unique design with bright vivid colors.

Chalfont Business Solutions is a blog web site I set up for a client who wanted to manage her own web site. She offers a variety of business services including helping small businesses and new entrepreneurs find solutions to business, accounting and bookkeeping challenges.

I set up her site using Wordpress, a free blogging software, customized a template to her specifications, and spent an hour on the phone with her doing what I call "Blogging 101". Now she has total control over the content in her site! 

J.J. Consulting Legal Blog - a simple blog style web site made using Word Press Software. It's a blog and a web site basically.

This type of web site is a great option when you don't want to spend a lot of money but want to be able to control your web site's content.

A blog using Word Press has an administrative login that gives you control  of all of your content (text).

Coachella Valley Green - this is a content management web site built using Joomla. There is a backend interface that allows the site owner to add / manage the content you see on the web site.

This web site features an online calendar where viewers can see upcoming events and also has a directory of green businesses, also manageable from the backend.

This site also has a YouTube Videos section, where the site owner can copy You Tube Links into a simple form and the program inserts the video into the web site.

The web site features an online forum, where people can post messages and reply to other posts.

Desert Kids Directory - this is a content management web site built using Joomla. There are a number of programs that many web sites might find useful within the web site. The web site features an events calendar, a business directory, and a links section.

The web site has a backend administrative interface that allows the owner to make changes to page content as well as manage the calendar, directory and links section.

MDTV Travel and Business Directory -an example of a content management web site with hundreds of pages of content.

The web site uses a wide variety of extensions to add to the functionality to the site. Extensions include a video upload component, an announcements sections for weddings, births and obituarties, a forum, an online community section, a blog, and much more The web site has sections listing businesses across the world, from California to Thailand.

Realty Rentals Palm Springs - this site offers palm springs vacation rentals. This web site uses a piece of very affordable software that allows the owner of the site to add his own rental homes into the site using a back end interface.

The homepage has a flash slide show. This site has a very helpful link directory which is improving its rankings in the search engines.

This web site is doing very well in the search engines, with many of its search terms showing up on the first two pages of Google search results.

William Webster - an amazing local artist. This web site has a few brochure style pages, but the majority of it is a set of image galleries that are managed by the artist using an administrative interface.

The image gallery program I used is called Menalto Gallery. It's a free program that allows users to add / manage their images online.
