There are a number of ways that the Internet can help your local business get more traffic. All of the major search engines have a feature that lists local businesses. In addition, there are a number of web sites that specialize in listing businesses locally to help web surfers find things in their own neighborhood. Each web site has slightly different rules and requirements, but the basics are the same. You’ll need to provide the following information:

  • All essential contact information
  • Other office locations if applicable
  • Office hours for each day of the week
  • A general two or three sentence objective description of your company
  • The types of payment methods you will accept

  • Google, Yahoo, and Bing local
  • Local.com
  • City Search
  • YellowPages.com
