building-linksIf you're interested in ranking well in search engines, it's important to consider the number of links that point from other web sites to yours. Inbound links pointing to your web site are one of the most important factors in how search engines rank your web site.

The most popular way to establish links to your web site is through reciprocal links. If you exchange links with quality, related companies and organize them into a resource directory, you're providing a valuable service to your visitors.

There are many other factors about the links and the entire process that affect rankings:

  • the text within the link (such as luxury vacation homes)
  • the popularity of the web page is containing the link
  • the text around the link
  • how fast links to your site are being added

How many links do you need? The answer is different for every key phrase. Other factors involve looking at the top ten results for a key phrase and finding out how and why they are listed there.

I can set up an organized directory and start establishing keyword rich links from other sites to your site. What will this do for you? It will help your rankings improve on search engines. Establishing links is a process. It's done over time, not all at once.

Here's an example of a helpful resource directory that I've created for one of my clients. I've exchanged links with hundreds of other quality related web sites in order to help this client rank well in search engines.
