Dropbox is a new free service I’m starting to recommend that lets you store and share documents that are impossible to impossible to email including large high resolution photos, and even those large ten minute videos. This means that any file you save to your Dropbox will automatically save to all your computers, phones and even the Dropbox website.
Dropbox also makes it super easy to share with others and it’s working out great so far with my clients who have large amounts of images and videos they need to get to me for processing before adding to their web site.
Dropbox syncs all the files you save in your local dropbox folder with anywhere you’ve installed the software and can access your account. It shares with your computer at home, the office, your laptop and and even your phones and tablets.. You can start working on a computer at school or the office, and finish from your home computer. No more emailing yourself a a copy of the file again! You can send people links to specific files in your Dropbox too.
You can download Dropbox for your phone or tablet to simplify your life even more — I’m currently using the free version and so far only on my home PC, but they offer a paid version that I may try out. I’m still a “newbie”, so i’ll keep you informed, but so far it’s a fantastic way for clients to share files with me and vice versa.
I’ll keep you in the loop!
